Summer Vacation (The Fruit of the Spirit is Peace)
School's out. Friends are planning trips. My grandsons are vacationing in Africa. My youngest son is hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. I'm sitting in a stuffy upstairs "office" in front of a computer. Well, not for long. I'm going on summer break and I'll let you know in September if my blog is coming back.
I've enjoyed the challenge of the weekly blog and appreciate those of you who read it. However, I'm feeling God moving me in another direction. I'll keep writing—I still have lots of words—more things to say and stories to tell, but it may be in another format. We'll see.
In the meantime, I'm going to relax, kick off my shoes, read, journal, connect with friends, travel with Rich, putter in the yard and, who knows, I may even take up golf. I'm doing a Bible study and will take a personal retreat to regroup with God and let Him show me what's next. What's important and what's not. I may even post a few pictures on Facebook if I do something interesting.
Life is short and sometimes you need to put something good down to pick up something better. One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 6:16:
This is what the LORD says:
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
Well, I'm at a crossroads and I'm asking.
God bless you all. Have a wonderful summer.
